Below is a list of important dates and other important information about preparing for your study abroad experience.
Fill out an interest sheet online or in office as soon as you think about studying abroad.
Make an appointment with Barbara or stop in the Study Abroad Office as soon as possible! You need to be in touch to ensure a smooth process.
Select one of our many study abroad programs. Fill out a SU application and turn in the deposit by May 1st for the fall deadline and by October 1st for the spring deadline. This is your official declaration of intent to study abroad.
Once you've been accepted by SU, complete the program's application and attachments. Check it out with Barbara and the Study Abroad Office before you send it off. Submit by:

Get your passport (additional photos are a good idea; you may need them for applications) and a Visa (if you need one for the country where you are studying). For more information, visit the U.S. Department of State's Foreign Entry Requirements.
Choose 10 courses that you want to take at your abroad institution. Complete SU's blue form "Request to Take Courses through Study Abroad." Once approved by SU, submit a course list to the abroad institution.
Attend a pre-departure orientation meeting for parents and students with the Study Abroad Office.
