Which SU rates will I be paying?

Many programs include tuition, meal plans and housing, while others cover only tuition and housing, or only tuition. In instances where the program does not include meal plan and housing, students will buy food on their own and pay rent directly to a landlord. Your bill from SU will cover whatever services are provided by your program. For instance, if you live in campus housing, your bill will include SU tuition rates and SU housing rates for that semester. If you live on campus with a meal plan, your bill will include SU rates for tuition, housing, and meal plan for that semester.

If you are in an internship program, your bill may only include housing, food, and tuition fees for the amount of credits received. Many Arcadia and CIEE programs cost in excess of this total because they provide orientations, activities, and on-site staff. You will be billed later for the additional cost. This will show up on your bill as a premium fee for study abroad.

Is financial aid available?

If you are on a SU scholarship, you can continue to receive some or all of that funding while studying overseas.  Additionally, if you receive a SU housing incentive, you may also continue to receive some or all of that funding overseas if your program costs include housing.

Determine your Stevenson aid by adding your SU Scholarship for one semester and SU Housing Incentive for one semester.

If your total semester aid is less than $4,000, you will receive that total amount toward your overseas study.  If your total semester aid exceeds the $4,000 limit, you will receive $4,000.

Abroad, you remain a student of Stevenson University.  This means that government financial aid, including grants and loans, will remain available to you to pay for your abroad semester.  Private loans, grants, and scholarships may potentially vary depending on the provider, but generally they can also be applied to your abroad semester.

As funds are available, Stevenson University will support pre-approved student plane fares up to $250 for students studying in Europe and up to $500 for students studying in Australia and New Zealand.  There will be no institutional aid or allowance toward plane fares for summer programs.
