Study Abroad: Get Started

In order to study abroad, you must go through SU and the Study Abroad Office. This is the only way we can guarantee transfer credit and financial aid. Here’s how to begin planning your study abroad experience:

1. Start looking at the different Study Abroad Programs. Contact the Study Abroad Office if you have questions about programs.

2. Take a look at our Things to Think About List and check out the Frequently Asked Questions (see the Study Abroad section). You can also read about Previous Study Abroad Experiences.

3. If you think you want to study abroad, fill out the Interest Sheet. This information will be sent to the Study Abroad Office and someone will contact you to schedule an appointment.

4. Read and print the Checklist of important dates and steps in the study abroad process. Remember to keep in contact with the Study Abroad Office - we’re here to help you with the application process.

5. Fill out the SU Study Abroad Application Forms. The SU application is your official declaration of your intent to study abroad and you must fill this out before you can apply to the study abroad program of your choice.

6. Apply to your program of choice. How to apply>
