Admission Requirements: Traditional Nursing Option

Admission to this limited enrollment program is highly selective. Students must first be accepted to the College, then to the Nursing major. Students who meet the Admissions criteria for acceptance to Stevenson and who indicate on their application that they are interested in the Nursing major, will be reviewed by the Nursing Admissions Committee.

Criteria for admission to the Nursing major:

  • Critical Reading or Verbal SAT of 520 or higher; and
  • Math SAT of 500 or higher; and
  • High school GPA of 3.0 or higher in the academic subjects (i.e., English, sciences, math, social studies, foreign languages, AP courses, etc.)
  • Successful completion of high school algebra II, geometry, biology, and chemistry

If you are applying as a transfer student, the Nursing Admissions committee will consider the criteria above, as well as a cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher, and at least B's in college-level English, biology, chemistry, and/or other science courses with labs.
