Leadership Scholarship in Art for High School Seniors

Stevenson University offers a Leadership Scholarship in Art to High School seniors who wish to attend the University. The awards were created to recognize and reward outstanding artistic talent and academic achievement. All high school students who apply to Stevenson University for art and are accepted to the University are eligible to compete for this scholarship. To compete, students must submit a Slide Portfolio and complete a Scholarship Entry Form.

To receive a scholarship, students must matriculate at Stevenson University as a degree-seeking student, majoring in Visual Communication Design. Scholarships range from $500 to $3,000 for four years. Scholarships are renewable for up to four years provided the student maintains a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA each year and earns at least 30 hours of leadership, experience, and activity points per semester.

Please note: To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must complete all admission requirements and submit the required scholarship material to the Art Department by January 15. Students must also be accepted to the University by February 15.

Application Procedures

Step One: Apply for Admission

To be considered for an Art Scholarship, students must complete the SU Admissions application process by January 15. You can Apply Online  or call the Admissions Office to request a paper application. Be sure to include your Admissions essay, the Secondary School Report & Recommendation Form, official high school transcripts, and all standardized test scores. Step Two: Complete Scholarship Entry Form

All eligible students must submit a completed entry form with Statement of Intent. Download the Form>

Step Three: Slide Portfolio of Artwork

To be considered, submit a portfolio of 10 slides. You may submit work on a CD, or in a standard slide sleeve. See Figure 1 for slide illustration. If using slides, they should be clearly marked on front of mount with your name, date of work, media, and dimensions. Place a red dot on the lower left corner of each slide. See Figure 2.

Slides and CDs will be returned ONLY if they are submitted with a self-addressed stamped envelope with adequate postage for return delivery. Slides and CDs that are not returned become part of the applicant's permanent file.

Student must be accepted to the University in order to participate in the Art Scholarship competition.
