Graduate Assistantship in Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS)

The Graduate Assistant will work collaboratively with the Senior Instructional Designer in the development and maintenance of courses in the Blackboard Academic Suite. In order to meet Stevenson’s educational goals in the Graduate and Professional Studies program, the GA will identify, study, and try to resolve problems to ensure a quality learning experience for all students using Blackboard while adhering to the objectives and mission of the college. Graduate assistants will work approximately 20 hours a week during each 15 week semester. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical support for the Blackboard Academic Suite
  • Create animated tutorial demonstrations showing how to use Blackboard and other applications using Macromedia Captivate
  • Create and edit graduate course maps using Microsoft Visio
  • Make updates to Graduate and Professional Studies web page
  • Assist professors with syllabus revisions and other related technical tasks

Supervisor: Senior Instructional Designer

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, individuals need to have a broad understanding of computers. Experience with Microsoft Office is required and further experience with web-based applications is helpful. Any additional training will be provided. Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree and must be working toward a Masters degree in one of Stevenson University’s Masters Programs.
