Admissions Decisions

The recommended cumulative GPA for transfer students is 2.5, but lower GPA's may be considered. Applicants who have earned the Associate of Arts (A.A.), Associate of Science (A.S.), and Associate of Arts in Teaching (A.A.T.) degrees from regionally accredited institutions will automatically be admitted to VJC upon receipt of the application and all required documentation. However, acceptance to the College does not guarantee acceptance into a specific degree program. Some limited enrollment and accelerated programs, including nursing, may have higher GPA requirements. Please refer to the Academic Programs website for more information about the specific major in which you are interested.

Completed applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Decision letters are generally mailed 5-10 business days after February 1 for fall semester matriculation and after October 1 for spring semester matriculation.
