International students applying as incoming freshmen with no post-secondary school education must submit the following:
Application for Admission - We suggest that you apply online.
Proof of English Proficiency - Any student whose native or official language is not English must submit an official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score. The following TOEFL scores are required for admission: 213 or higher (computer-based); 80 or higher (Internet-based); or 550 or higher (paper-based). Students who have earned a score of 520 or higher on the SAT Critical Reading Test are exempt from the TOEFL requirement.
Official Transcripts - All applicants who have (or will) complete secondary school outside the United States must submit official transcripts for evaluation directly to World Education Services. Students attending a U.S.-accredited high school outside the United States are not required to provide an evaluation but must submit an office high school transcript.
SAT or ACT Scores - Official SAT or ACT scores sent directly from the College Board.
Short Response Questions - Provide 100-word responses for each of the five short answer questions listed in the Application for Admission.
Counselor Recommendation and Transcript Request Form (Recommended) - The secondary school official responsible for posting the student's grades should complete this form.
Current F-1 High School Student Documents - International students currently attending a high school in the United States must submit a copy of his or her current I-20, I-94, U.S. visa, passport ID page, and a letter of recommendation from his or her high school guidance counselor.
Financial Resource Statement - All applicants holding or intending to seek an F-1 student via must complete the International Student Declaration of Finances (PDF). Certificates of Eligibility (Form I-20) and admission decisions will not be released until this information is provided.
Official Bank Statement - An official statement from the international student's bank verifying the student's financial resources for the entire cost of attendance for one year must be submitted along with a literal English translation if necessary. The cost of attendance for international students for 2007-2008 can be found in the International Student FAQ.
Additional Information for International Freshmen
Enrollment Deposit - The enrollment deposit of $300 is applied to the accepted student's tuition bill. This Deposit is non-refundable after May 1st for fall entrance and December 1st for spring entrance.
Stevenson University Health Form - The SU health form, downloadable from our website, must be completed in its entirety and mailed to the Stevenson University Wellness Center before June 1st for fall entrance and November 1st for spring entrance. Until all required immunizations have been received and this form submitted, international students will not be allowed to start classes or move into the residence halls (should they choose to live on campus). Proof of medical insurance is required for all international students attending Stevenson University.
SEVIS Fee - Accepted international students are responsible for paying the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System a fee of $100. More >>
Issuance of the I-20 - A Certificate of Eligibility (I-20) is issued only after the student has been accented for admission. Students on an F-1 visa must take a minimum of 12 credits each semester.
Scholarships - Freshmen international students are automatically considered for merit scholarships. The scholarship review is based on secondary school performance and SAT or ACT scored. Federal financial aid programs are restricted to U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
