August Sander (1896-1964) was one of the most significant German photographers in the first half of the 20th century. His ambitious portrait series made viewers aware of the social, cultural dimensions and stratifications of German life. This exhibition appears courtesy of the Kathleen Ewing Gallery of Washington, D.C., and the estate of August Sander at the August Sander Archive, in Cologne, Germany.
Take some time to enjoy this collection as we look forward to our upcoming campus events this season, prior to Villa Julie's spring theatre production of Cabaret, opening on April 17th.
