60th Anniversary of VJC

A Message from our President, Kevin J. Manning, Ph.D.

This is an exciting year for Villa Julie College as we mark the sixtieth anniversary of our founding.  Special activities are scheduled throughout the year, as we highlight our past and celebrate our future. We hope everyone will find a way to help make this year memorable. Check the web calendar frequently to learn about these distinctive activities.

On October 1, 2007, we commemorated Founder’s Day, recognizing the accomplishments of the amazing women who played a role in the founding of the College as well as honoring those who have contributed – and continue to contribute – to Villa Julie’s vitality today. Loretta Plunkett ’48 was one of our special guests on Founder’s Day. She was one of the seven women whose first day of College was October 1, 1947. Visit the news portion of our website to see photographs from this event.

Since Villa Julie’s founding in 1947, the College has stayed true to its motto, Pro Discendo, Pro Vivendo (For Learning, For Living). Villa Julie’s distinct blend of liberal arts plus a career focus continues to attract students from around the region. Graduates from Villa Julie – then, as well as now – are almost guaranteed a job, as employers find them well prepared to make a difference to their organizations.

Villa Julie is a special place. The College takes pride in knowing it has successfully adapted to the challenges of the past 60 years. Villa Julie College is well positioned to continue its journey. See you there!

Sincerely,
