Student Mental Health Emergencies

Faculty, Staff, or Students may come upon or know a student/peer/friend exhibiting concerning behavior in a classroom, office, lab, dorm room, or any location on campus.

Presenting concerns may include, but not limited to:

• Suicidal or homicidal intent (Intent to hurt self or others)
• Displays self-destructive or aggressive behavior
• Displays emotional instability or impulsive behavior
• Displays bizarre, inappropriate, and/or unsettling behavior

Provide the following information to security:

• Your name, location, and phone number
• Name of the student
• Location of the student in crisis
• Description of concerning behavior
• Description of your reaction to the student (i.e. concerns, anxieties, fears and gut feelings)
